Contest Moderators [wicked fae mage]

Please read the [#RULES] before entering!

Rules:

1. Costumes must have been put together and designed by YOU. No store-bought, rentals or otherwise pre-made costumes are not allowed. A heavily modified pre-made costume may be allowed if the moderator thinks significant and sufficient alterations have been made. This will be decided on a case-to-case basis. A costume will be considered designed by you if it is either sewn by you, or made using modified versions of other clothes: Knick-knacks from one store, a mask from another, a shirt here, some tape there, spray painting something and taping it together to turn it into something completely new. That's originality! And that's what this competition is all about.

2. Each member may submit two (2) entries.

3. Maximum three (3) photos per entry. They must all be of the same costume.

4. Entry must be uploaded to Elftown. To upload your image full-size you can use the feature 'Upload a folder of images' that is shown on your house.
This feature allows you to upload one, multiple images or zip-files in their original size to a wikipage.
<URL:upload_zip.html>
Once you click this link you can follow the instructions. See also uploading images.

5. Vote-mongering: Asking people to vote for you is not allowed. You may ask people to vote in the poll in general, but not specifically for you.

6. Queries: If you wish to discuss something about how the contest is run, or the rules, then please use the official contest forum: <forum:Elftown contests>! If you wish to bring up a query about whether a certain entry fits the theme, please speak up before the entries make it to the polls. You can still speak up even after the contest is closed, as long as the polls have not yet gone up yet. Complaints received after the aforementioned will not be considered valid. However, if you wish to query whether an entry is stolen art or breaks any other rules, you may still bring this up after the poll has been made.

2005-10-21 [Stratakus]: Damnit. I've been to busy with school to even start putting togethr a costume for halloween... and I have a school even running all week up to halloween!

2005-10-21 [Sunrose]: Ahwz :(

2005-10-22 [Byne]: I have a question! What if our costuem invovles other people? o_______o

2005-10-23 [Desire.]: Question! Question!! Um... what if... we bought the costume...but we drastically changed it by adding, ripping, and removing things???

2005-10-23 [Charybdis]: The only way a store bought costume is allowed is if it's been modified enough to actually look like some effort was put into the costume. So yes, go for it, if you think it fits that definition! // [Byne]: Umm... in what way? o_o

2005-10-23 [Desire.]: Ah, okay....thanks very much!!! o_o...let me find a costume first...^^;;

2005-10-28 [evilassbitch69]: the best ones are homemade

2005-10-30 [peacefrog]: Man, do I wish somebody had a digital camera around here!

2005-10-31 [Thalier]: why was the deadline before halloween? it should have been after so people could take the pictures on halloween!!

2005-10-31 [Sunrose]: We want to show the best costume on Halloween, not after. Most people should have their costumes finished before Halloween starts anyway :)

2005-10-31 [beautiful _ darkness]: I didnt I still have to finish mine... lol

2005-10-31 [brilis]: shame on who won ya take an old probally her moms victorien dress and put up a annetna if front of it and take a picture gezzz no effore at all  several more deserving than her but o well

2005-10-31 [shotokan_gal]: It looks handmade to me. More deserving? You mean because your girlfriend didn't happen to win it? :P

2005-10-31 [Sunrose]: Actually if you'd investigate [Seyra] a bit more, you'd find out she makes a lot of costumes. So I think it is shame on you for being a sore loser and I don't appreciate you slandering other members because of it.

2005-11-01 [Charybdis]: Well done, everyone, and congrats to the winners! It was a close contest ^^

2005-12-02 [brilis]: has nothing to do with my g/f winning or anything else actually ithink missys  was not the best and that there were others better but what i want to know is where is the voting? or is it just you that picked sunrose? contests should mean its open to all and all can vote if not then its lopsided or evan fixed sooo come on now

2005-12-02 [Charybdis]: There was a poll, and the winners were decided upon by the Council and the Assembly. It was certainly not fixed, as all the voters chose their favourites, and the top two won. Since the competitions were late in starting this year, and since we wanted to give members as much time to enter as we could, there was just the one poll to decide so that the winners would be up in time for Halloween night. You will, however, be able to vote in the Christmas competitions after the crew has chosen a number of finalists.

2005-12-02 [Sunrose]: I personally was not even involved with the contest except for making a few comments and voting in the poll [Charybdis] mentioned. One crewmember also never decides the outcome of a contest alone.

2006-09-24 [Shjahjdahdvwa]: Shouldn't it be the penguin badge?!

2006-09-24 [shotokan_gal]: That's a good point *changes* (and someone can fix if I'm wrong :P ). Thanks!

2006-09-25 [Stratakus]: Damnit. I gotta back out of it this year. I'm planning on being FF7: AC version of Cid, but I'm only going to bleach my hair for the actual day of the halloween party and then dye it black the next day so I don't think I'll be able to enter my full costume this time. .... Oh well. I'll still post it in my house.

2006-09-25 [Stratakus]: ~Looks at the page more closely~ ... Hey I think this is one of the Wiki's I made 2 years ago... Hey it is! Wow... I forgot all about this.

2006-09-25 [Sunrose]: Yes it is :P

2006-09-27 [Ravenclaw]: Question~! Do witches count as bump in the night? I mean like a Hogwarts teacher costume? I'm building a set of robes over a wool blazer which I've modified. It's not really scarey but I plan on being a vampire with it also.

2006-09-27 [Stratakus]: Witches go more "Scratch at the Window", but as it says in non bold print, it doesn't have to follow the theme of Bump in the Night.

2006-09-27 [Ravenclaw]: thanks, but vampire witch would follow the theme of scratches in the night I suppose lol

2006-09-29 [popeyethecat]: I MUST enter this...but will my parents take photos of it before Halloween? Hm...I think I'll sneak a photograph without them knowing if I want to enter :p
